Gotham Knights is not coming to The CW in February 2023

Don’t be looking for DC’s Gotham Knights to premiere on The CW this month.

It had been a minute since we heard any real updates about Gotham Knights but that has all changed in recent weeks. The DC series, which could very well be The CW’s last ever new superhero show, has been on the minds of TV viewers for multiple reasons, but it all started with the release of a second trailer.

The network is ramping up the promo train for the show but its future is still uncertain at this point. With all of the upheaval at Warner Bros. Discovery (and the formation of DC Studios) over the past year, it seems that all DC properties are uncertain right now – especially those on The CW due to the network’s new management. While DC bosses had some promising comments about the future of Superman and Lois, they had no comment to make on the future of Gotham Knights.

But while the long-term future of the show might be up in the air, the first season will premiere on The CW shortly. Just don’t expect it in February. The CW did confirm that The Flash season 9 will premiere this month, but Gotham Knights won’t be premiering just yet. Thankfully, we also have a premiere date for it.

Gotham Knights release date

Gotham Knights will premiere on The CW on March 14, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Its pilot episode will follow the season 3 premiere of the critically-acclaimed Superman and Lois.

Back when The CW picked it up to series, it was confirmed that it would be arriving in 2023 instead, while the other two new shows, The Winchesters and Walker: Independence, debuted in fall 2022.

The decision to now pair it with Superman and Lois makes sense on many levels, as the two DC shows are now part of the network’s “Super Knight” Tuesdays line-up, and having one of the network’s two most successful shows act as a lead-in for it could see it benefit from higher ratings.

If you’re excited for the show, you’ll be happy to know that there isn’t much longer to wait for it!
