Detroit Lions – Okoye

The Detroit Lions had one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, Barry Sanders. Sanders was unstoppable. While he may not have brought the Lions to the promised land, it wasn’t from lack of trying. In a fairly short career, Sanders remains third all-time in rushing yards.

Okoye hasn’t been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe long, but she’s proven her worth quickly. She’s already one of the more popular characters and she’s only been around just over a year. I’d call her the Barry Sanders of the MCU.

We saw her in Avengers: Endgame be the first person to lead the charge to clear the way for Captain Marvel. She ran through villains like Sanders, rushing through the defense. And she doesn’t have powers.

Okoye is going to be one of the many women in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to become a major hero. I doubt anyone saw this coming. Even the creative team who helped put her character together. Like Okoye, Calvin “Megatron” Johnson had an incredible career in a short time. Who knows how much more he could have done if he played longer. Luckily for us, Okoye will be around for a long time.
