Matching 32 Marvel Cinematic Universe characters with each NFL team

Los Angeles Chargers – War Machine
The Chargers haven’t been a strong NFL team, though they have had are some amazing players. Among them was the phenomenal defender Junior Seau. Seau was one of the NFL’s best defenders with 12 Pro Bowl appearances. He’s also fourth all-time in tackles.
James “Rhodey” Rhodes has been defending the country for years as a member of the United States Military. As a member of the Avengers, War Machine helped save the world. He was absolutely crucial in getting one of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame.
Rhodey doesn’t get the credit he deserves for helping the Avengers. He doesn’t need to have the big moments to be an important part of the team. If anything, Rhodey deserves credit just for keeping Tony in check.
Antonio Gates has something in common with Rhodey. Their careers took them down paths they didn’t expect. Gates played college basketball and tried out for the NBA. After that didn’t pan out, Gates joined the Chargers and became a legend.
Rhodey probably never thought he’d be a superhero. Even after he saw the armor in Tony Stark’s house. Both Gates and Rhodey became historic in their particular field. It just goes to show that life is funny. You never know how a left turn can change your destiny.
