Does MODOK die in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania?
It never pays to be a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a lesson MODOK learns firsthand in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. In an unexpected reveal, the MODOK of the MCU ends up being Darren Cross, who was thought to be lost in the Quantum Realm following his battle with Scott back in Ant-Man. Upon being banished to the Quantum Realm, Darren was found by and transformed into MODOK: Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing, aka Kang’s personal assassin.
MODOK basically serves as Kang’s loyal subject across the film, right up until the final battle which is when Cassie manages to convince him that it’s never too late to stop being a dick. This gives him the inspiration needed to fight alongside Cassie and her family against Kang. Sadly, in doing so, MODOK is killed by Kang allowing him to die a hero’s death as an “Avenger.”
Does Kang die in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania?
Although Jonathan Majors is set to play a larger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, his character Kang the Conqueror does indeed die within the film during the final battle with Ant-Man and the Wasp. After Janet, Hank, Hope, and Cassie manage to make it back home safely with help from Kang’s Timesphere engine, Scott is held back leading to an intense hand-to-hand battle between him and Kang.
Just as it looks like Kang is going to kill Scott, Hope returns to the Quantum Realm via the portal fueled by the device and helps Scott finally put an end to Kang. During their final battle, Kang is seemingly vaporized by the Timesphere engine — thus killing the Kang variant who serves as the key foil of the film.
