When does Loki season 2 come out?
Loki season 2 is on the horizon but when can fans anticipate the Marvel Cinematic Universe show to return to Disney Plus?
Marvel’s Multiverse Saga rolls on with this year’s release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but the conversation surrounding that film owes a lot to Disney Plus‘ Loki.
For starters, Loki was arguably where the idea of the multiverse really came into play for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, exploring alternate realities and timelines. And secondly, it introduced us to Jonathan Majors’ He Who Remains – a version / variant of the entity that would become Kang the Conqueror.
With Phase Five officially underway and Loki season 2 on the horizon, Marvel fans want to know when they can expect the God of Mischief to return.
Loki season 2 release updates
Loki season 2 is currently set for release in summer 2023. It was one of the multiple releases confirmed for this year back at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022 in the Phase Five graphic unveiled by Kevin Feige. Back then, it was positioned as the second Disney Plus series after Echo, but with reports suggesting that show won’t premiere until 2024 now, Loki could be moved to earlier in the summer to take its slot.
However, a more recent report from The Hollywood Reporter suggests that Secret Invasion and Loki season 2 are now likely the only MCU shows to make their presence felt on Disney Plus this year. That’s obviously very good news for Loki fans, but the bad news is that, if Marvel decides to spread out its releases (like it’s now doing on the movie front with an unexpected delay), Loki could end up getting pushed further into the year (since Secret Invasion seems to be nailed on for Spring).
For now, Tom Hiddleston’s Trickster, Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius will be back in the summer, but that could change if Marvel decides to delay again.
