Fans are dying to see Henry Cavill step into the role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and this fan trailer gives us an idea of what he could look like in the role.

Henry Cavill, known for his roles as Superman and Geralt of Rivia, has been a fan favorite for the role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) since the moment Disney acquired the rights to the X-Men via its purchase of 20th Century Fox. While Hugh Jackman portrayed the iconic X-Men character for 17 years and will reprise the role in Deadpool 3, fans have been eagerly waiting for a new actor to take on the mantle of Wolverine in the MCU.

Cavill has emerged as an ideal choice for the role of Wolverine due to his physique and acting prowess. With his portrayal of Geralt in The Witcher, he has already demonstrated his ability to create a brooding, intense character. He has worked on action films like Man of Steel and Mission: Impossible – Fallout, which may be useful for the X-Men franchise’s fast-paced fight scenes.

Cavill’s addition to the MCU has the potential to bring some fresh blood to the franchise, as he has not been involved in any Marvel movies yet. He could help inject new life into the X-Men franchise, which has seen some ups and downs over the years.

Fans are dying to see him make the jump over to the MCU and their visions have finally come to life thanks to the work of a talented artist who has helped give us a look at what Cavill could look like in the role of Wolverine.

What Henry Cavil could look like as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Content creator Stryder HD recently debuted a stunning clip that envisions what Henry Cavill could look like in the role of Wolverine. Using DeepFake technology and footage from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Stryder HD digitally replaces Hugh Jackman’s likeness with Cavill’s which allows fans to get an idea of what Cavill could look like in the role of Wolverine in a film.

The end result is an incredible clip that showcases just why fans have been calling for Marvel to cast Cavill in the role, as there is no denying he absolutely embodies Logan. Sure, we know Cavill’s likeness is edited into the clip and it’s Jackman’s frame but getting to see Cavill in the scene as Wolverine makes it easy to become even more excited about the prospect of him potentially playing the character.

When are the X-Men coming to the MCU?

At this time, Marvel continues to keep fans in the dark about the exact timeline for when the X-Men will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that the studio has finally figured out when they’ll look to tap into the X-Men catalog — he’s just not prepared to talk about it yet.

“But part of the fun is that I’ve been at this company for half my life, and we’re just now tapping into arguably one of the biggest aspects of the publishing history. It’s pretty remarkable, and it’s a testament to the house of ideas and what Marvel publishing has done these 80 years,” Feige told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview. “The question is how to do it and when to do it, and that’s something we’ve been working on for years. Now we know. But we’re not going to talk about it.”

Considering Marvel has films slated for the next several years, it seems likely we’re still a few years out from the X-Men’s introduction in the MCU. Still, that doesn’t mean we couldn’t see some characters introduced before the team’s formal arrival after all we do know Wolverine and Deadpool will be entering the MCU via Deadpool 3.
