4. Alana and Marko

Comic book: Saga

According to the way the galaxy works in this universe, Alana and Marko shouldn’t be together. First, their people are at war with each other. Second, it was assumed that their two species weren’t even sexually compatible. Yet, they fell in love and had a baby they loved more than anything. Most of the galaxy wanted their relationship to fail, but they made it work.

Being on the run from the law is bad enough. It’s another thing to do it when you’re raising a child. On top of that, they couldn’t get consistent work and their love was forbidden. There was even a time where they couldn’t find each other in a vast galaxy. Nevertheless, their love stayed strong.

3. Northstar and Kyle

Comic book: X-Factor (Leah Williams)

Northstar (Jean-Paul Beaubier) and Kyle Jinadu were the first gay couple to be married in comics. Admittedly, this writer didn’t know much about their relationship until X-Factor by Leah Williams. Nevertheless, that was all this writer needed to see. They are happy for each other’s success, tolerant of their lifestyles (Kyle’s a human living on Krakoa), and they genuinely make each other happy. You rarely see them together without a smile on their faces. Another thing that’s great is seeing Jean-Paul reacting to Kyle when he embarrasses him. Jean-Paul wants to be mad, but he secretly loves it.
