Avengers: Secret Wars could bring back Daredevil (no, not that one)

Avengers: Secret Wars will likely feature many familiar faces, but a new rumor suggests we could see Ben Affleck’s Daredevil return.

Avengers: Secret Wars is the Multiverse Saga’s answer to Avengers: Endgame. That means it will likely be the biggest movie that the Marvel Cinematic Universe produces thus far. For that to happen, we’ll have to brace ourselves for a world in which anything can happen – which, let’s face it, that’s the MCU in a nutshell.

As the Avengers reunite to battle Kang the Conqueror in The Kang Dynasty, we’re likely going to see a lot of familiar faces from Marvel’s past and present. Be it MCU familiar faces, or familiar faces that stretch back further than that. We are, after all, dealing with the Multiverse, and we have already seen some shocking returns in recent installments.

However, a new rumor suggests we could see Ben Affleck reprise his role as the title hero from 2003’s Daredevil. According to Giant Freakin Robot, the actor has signed on to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, but it could be for something as simple as a cameo appearance.

Is Ben Affleck’s Daredevil really going to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars?

It’s important to take all Marvel rumors with a pinch of salt, especially now with the Multiverse Saga meaning that rumors about any and every live-action Marvel character can legitimately gather momentum, but a lot of those rumors could pan out to be true. With Marvel Studios now looking to expand the horizons of the universe it’s set in, it wouldn’t be too surprising if they were to pull in other characters from outside of the MCU continuity to prove that.

We’ve already seen this with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and the unexpected cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and it’s highly likely that the road to The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will have some more along the way.

So it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Ben Affleck show up as Matt Murdock in a cameo appearance. If we’re going to be exploring alternate worlds, the pre-MCU Marvel movies will come up at some point, and Affleck’s Daredevil would be an instantly recognizable choice if Marvel Studios are looking to do that.

As always, take it with a pinch of salt until it’s actually confirmed, but this is a rumor that feels like it could come to fruition if Marvel and Affleck want it to.
