Secret Invasion release date remains a mystery (but we know it’s not coming in March)

Despite Marvel’s promise of Secret Invasion coming in early 2023, the Secret Invasion release date remains a mystery but we do know it’s not coming in March!

Heading into this year, Marvel fans thought they’d be in store for the busiest years in the history of Marvel Studios. The expectation was that we’d be getting three cinematic movie releases as well as a slew of new Disney Plus original series. However, that picture has quickly changed in recent weeks.

Not only has Captain Marvel been pushed back to November, but it’s been reported that Marvel is looking to cut back its output this year by delaying several of the originally announced Marvel Disney Plus shows. The move is one that’s left fans shocked and concerned, as it now appears we’ll only be getting two Marvel shows on Disney Plus this year: Secret Invasion season 1 and Loki season 2.

It’s looking like Loki will be sticking with its originally scheduled summer release, but it’s beginning to look like the Secret Invasion release date is going to be delayed. While the show was originally expected to arrive in early 2023, new reports suggest that Marvel will look to release the show closer to summer.

We also now know Secret Invasion definitely won’t be coming in March, as Disney Plus has released its full March schedule and the show is nowhere to be found. The fact that the show won’t be arriving in March suggests it won’t be coming in the spring as it’s highly unlikely Disney would want to air the show at the same time it’ll be airing new episodes of The Mandalorian. 

Secret Invasion release date predictions

Currently, the expectation is that the Secret Invasion release date will see the show arriving on Disney Plus sometime in May 2023, likely a week or two into the month.

The Mandalorian season 3 is set to premiere on March 1 and is slated to have eight episodes, meaning its season finale should air on Wednesday, April 19. Typically, Disney has put at least two weeks between its bigger shows which seems to suggest the earliest Secret Invasion could arrive would be Wednesday, May 10 or Thursday, May 11 — depending on which day of the week Marvel looks to release the show.

However, when you consider that Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 will release in theaters on May 5, it seems likely Marvel would look to put some space between the two. If Disney were to the standard two weeks between the release of Guardians 3 and Secret Invasion, then it’s possible we might not see the show release until May 25 or May 26.  It’s all going to come down to timing and how exactly Marvel will look to space out its 2023 offerings.
