The sixth episode of The Last of Us was yet another hard-hitting and emotional outing for the HBO series. It’s not that surprising anymore, because this show does such a great job of pulling on your emotional heartstrings that you just can’t help but get invested in Ellie and Joel’s story.

We know more about the latter than we do the former, and that’s in no small part due to the pilot episode, which really delved into Joel’s backstory. But now, it’s Ellie’s turn, as a powerful seventh episode will give us a glimpse into her journey prior to meeting Joel and shed some light on what brought her to this point in her story.

How long is The Last of Us episode 7?

The Last of Us episode 7 has a runtime of one hour (or 60 minutes). That’s pretty much on par with the last two episodes of the show, suggesting that the HBO and HBO Max series has balanced out in the runtime department after the first four episodes had significantly differing lengths (with the first and third running for over 80 minutes, and the second and fourth being just 45 minutes long).

The seventh episode, titled “Left Behind”, will undoubtedly pay tribute to the video game backstory for Ellie, so it’s no coincidence that it’s named after the 2014 DLC game The Last of Us: Left Behind. It’s expected that this will be the episode where we learn how and when Ellie was bitten before discovering her immunity. It will also be the episode where we meet Riley (Storm Reid), a character from the video games whose name was mentioned in the premiere episode.
