Who plays Riley on HBO’s The Last of Us?
The Last of Us episode 7 introduces us to Riley by delving into Ellie’s past. Who portrays the iconic video game character and where have you seen them before?
It’s finally time to learn more about Ellie. After last week’s jaw-dropping episode of The Last of Us saw the possible culmination of one of Joel’s overarching stories, we’re shifting focus a little to find out how events in Ellie life led her to this journey with him.
In doing so, we’ll meet the character of Riley Abel. Video game fans will already know who that is because how imperative she is to Ellie’s journey in the source material, but fans of the HBO series who haven’t played the video game might be familiar with that name too, because Riley was referenced in the very first episode.
Before we get to know her, though, let’s find out a little more about the star bringing her to life (and where you might have seen her before).
The Last of Us Riley actress
Riley is played by Storm Reid. A rising star of the big and small screens, Reid’s first significant role came in 2012’s 12 Years A Slave, before she earned praise for her performance in superhero movie Sleight. Her cinematic breakthrough came in A Wrinkle In Time, but she has also appeared in Don’t Let Go, The Invisible Man, and The Suicide Squad.
On the television side of things, she is best known for her role as Gia Bennett in HBO’s Euphoria. However, she has also appeared in episodes of Chicago PD, When They See Us and voiced the character of Nia in Hulu’s critically-acclaimed animated series The Bravest Knight.
Fans are super excited to see her play Riley in The Last of Us, both because of how brilliant an actress she is and how important the character is to Ellie’s backstory.
