What’s next for the Star Wars franchise in Marvel Comics? How about a crossover with a very cryptic tagline?

If you’re a fan of Star Wars movies, hopefully you’ve ventured into the comic books. The movies don’t tell the entire story. Not only are the comic book stories cannon, they help bridge the gap in between movies.

There are years in between the films. Within them are moments that show how great a character is. For example, there’s Darth Vader. The Marvel comic books show how ruthless, cunning, and patient Vader is. The movies didn’t do a great job of showing this because they only have a finite amount of time and can’t focus on one character. However, the comics can. They’ve brilliantly gotten into the heroes’ and villains’ personalities in greater depth than the films.

Like most comics, major universes will have crossover events. Star Wars is no different. In 2016, the crossover event  Star Wars: Vader Down debuted. A series that was held in a few different comic books. This won’t be the last time this universe has a major event. Marvel.com announced another crossover coming in the summer of 2023. Although, there’s no information about what the event is about. All we know is, “First, It Comes for the Metal…”

One thing to note is Marvel.com saying, “A new crossover comes to Marvel’s STAR WARS comics with a threat no one will see coming…” Does this mean a Marvel Comics villain will crossover to this universe? If so? Who could it be? Are Ultron, Doctor Doom, Magneto, or Galactus making their way to the Star Wars universe? Could it be someone who was once thought dead?

Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow for more news as it comes out.
