Batwoman star Javicia Leslie joins cast of a new Detective series
Javicia Leslie has been cast in the role of a single mom with exceptional detective skills in a reboot of a French detective comedy series – High Intellectual Potential – for ABC Studios.
Fresh off reprising her role as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman (and her evil doppelganger The Red Death) on the final season of The Flash, Javicia Leslie is not quite done with detective work quite yet.
As reported by Deadline, the Batwoman star has joined the cast of ABC’s remake of the French detective series HPI (High Intellectual Potential).
Based on TF1’s (HPI) Haut Potential Intellectual, Leslie has been cast opposite Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata.
Morgan (Olson), is a single mother of three with a prodigious mind capable of solving crimes deemed irresolvable. When she manages to put together evidence as an unassuming cleaner at the police department, the police catch on to her high intellectual potential and recruit her as a consultant for their cases. Leslie is going to play the character named Daphne, together with Olson and Sunjata, who is playing the law-abiding detective, Karadec, to form an unstoppable detective force.
Drew Goddard is writing the untitled HPI remake with ABC Signature and his production house Goddard Textiles with Rob Thomas serving as showrunner and Alethea Thomas directing and executive producing the series. Goddard, Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, and Jean Nainchrik are credited as executive producers Olso also serves as producer.
