When does The Last of Us season finale come out? (release date and time)
The first season of The Last of Us is set to conclude in a very short amount of time. When exactly does the season finale of the HBO series air?
It’s been quite the journey experiencing The Last of Us‘ transition from successful video game franchise to successful TV series. Hopes were high simply because of HBO’s involvement, the scope of the show, the source material it was based on, and stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, but even then, video game adaptations aren’t exactly known for their success. Thankfully, The Last of Us bucked the trend.
Viewers have watched relentlessly over the past seven weeks as Joel and Ellie have travelled across the country in hopes of finding the Fireflies. Their mission: To survive long enough so that the world’s freedom fighters can find a potential cure to the cordyceps pandemic with Ellie‘s immunity to the infection. They have hit a few rough patches along the way, but the show has not, gripping audiences from start through finish.
Speaking of finish, the season finale of The Last of Us is now in sight, and here’s when you can expect it.
The Last of Us season 1 episode 9 (finale) release date and time
The season 1 finale of The Last of Us airs on HBO on Sunday, March 12, at 9:00 p.m. ET for those watching on the East Coast, 6:00 p.m. PT for viewers on the West Coast, and 8:00 p.m. CT for those watching on the Central Time zone. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max simultaneously (both in the US and in other areas with the streaming platform).
There is an intrigue as to how the show’s first season will conclude and what storylines will be left open. The good news is that The Last of Us season 2 has been greenlit and it will continue the story on, likely adapting the second video game (The Last of Us Part II) in the process.
