The Flash is coming to an end with its ninth and final season, and star Grant Gustin acknowledges the show’s conclusion with an emotional social media post.

It’s been over a decade since Grant Gustin made his first appearance on TV screens as Barry Allen, when he endeared himself to audiences on two episodes of Arrow, but now he’s getting ready for the end of that DCTV journey. The star went on to lead the even more successful Arrowverse offshoot The Flash for nine seasons on The CW, and the show is set to wrap up its legendary run in May.

But it’s already the end of an era for the cast of the show, as production officially wrapped this past weekend after filming of the series finale was completed. Season 1 veterans Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, and John Wesley Shipp all took to social media to acknowledge the conclusion of the long-running series, and now Gustin himself has done the same.

The actor, who doesn’t often post on social media, took to Instagram to mark the milestone with a lengthy, emotional post that showcased nothing but love and gratitude for the journey that the show has taken him on over the past decade, thanking the cast, crew, producers and, of course, the fans for making The Flash what it was. Check out the post below:

If that wasn’t emotional enough, Gustin also shared a clip of himself hanging up his Flash suit in his dressing room for the final time. We’re not crying, you’re crying!

In the comments section of the acknowledgement post, there was an outpouring of love from fans, as well as many of Gustin’s Arrowverse colleagues.

Supergirl star Melissa Benoist (who wrapped her six-season run as the Girl of Steel in 2021) wished him congratulations, telling him that he “did it”. Superman and Lois‘ Elizabeth Tulloch also celebrated him, congratulating him for an incredible 9-season run and adding that she can’t wait to see what does next. Legends of Tomorrow‘s Nick Zano also wished him well for a “Tremendous accomplishment”.

The Flash has been a staple of television over the past decade and it’s hard to imagine where the superhero TV genre would be without it. The same goes for Grant Gustin, who has been nothing short of an incredible Flash.

Thank you, Grant. You’ll always be our Flash!
