9. Gina Gershon

As you can probably already tell, this list mostly consists of live-action interpretations of Catwoman given her success in film and TV. However, there are two actresses whose voice performances in animated shows have transcended the genre and resonate in the minds of audiences when thinking of the best actors to play the role, so it wouldn’t be right not to include them.

First up, we have Gina Gershon who played Selina Kyle and her felonious counterpart in animated series The Batman. The show ran for five seasons between 2004 and 2008, so Catwoman was a regular part of it, and Gershon brought her to life with ease. From the character’s very first “Meow”, you could hear that sensuality and charisma just ooze from her voice, and she sustained that throughout all of her appearances, which was largely responsible for the chemistry between Selina’s underdeveloped relationship with Batman.

The Batman is an underrated gem, and Gershon’s performance as Catwoman is just one of the many examples as to why it deserves more love. The show definitely could have developed Selina Kyle outside of Catwoman a bit more, but Gershon’s performance sold the character incredibly well.
