After seeing Evan Rachel Wood in Westworld, this writer believed that there’s nothing that she couldn’t do. There wasn’t an emotion that she didn’t portray throughout the show’s four seasons. All of those emotions would be needed in season 2 of The Last of Us if she was cast on the role of Abby Anderson.

Evan Rachel Wood could play Abby better than most. She doesn’t have the build that Abby does, but like in Westworld, she was still terrorizing people. If she’s cast in the role, there’s no way it wouldn’t be an Emmy winning performance.

Someone unknown

Marvel Studios has made a habit out of casting unknown or little-known performers to play their characters. This leaves fans with lower expectations and they are then pleasantly surprised when the performer does well. It’s helped boost performers’ careers due to more notoriety as well. Similarly, playing Abby could catapult someone’s career to new heights. Fans already love The Last of Us on HBO so they’ll tune in to see what’s next for Joel and Ellie. That means there will be eyes on whoever plays her.

There are a lot of genres to choose from. There are WWE Superstars, singers, rappers, rock stars and more that could jump into The Last of Us. As great as the people on this list are, maybe someone new is the right way to go.
