Marvel Studios has built one of the most successful franchises in movie history, but has a Marvel actor ever taken home an Oscar for an MCU movie?

Despite the box office success and critical acclaim of Marvel’s 31 movies, no Marvel actor has ever won an Oscar for their work in a Marvel movie. However, this could change tonight as Angela Bassett is nominated for Marvel’s first acting Oscar at the 95th Academy Awards.

Bassett made history this year when she became the first Marvel actor to ever receive a nomination for their performance in a Marvel Studios movie for her role as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
