Becky Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard, has made her way back to Central City because of the Crisis (which has reset the timeline and means she is no longer, well, dead). And now, her fiancé is in a coma and she’s being blamed for it. So, Team Flash is trying to prove her innocence.

Here’s what went down in The Flash season 9, episode 6, “The Good, The Bad, and the Lucky“.

The Flash season 9 episode 6 review

Bad luck

Why is this an episode in a 13 episode final season? Why? There’s no reason for it. Who cares? There’s such limited time in this season that the fact that the writer’s room needed to create such a nothing episode, even within that limited time, that the story of this season has nothing to it at all, is baffling.

Like, what’s there to actually say about this plot. It’s uninteresting, boring, and a waste of an episode. Seriously though, why is there an entire episode dedicated to Cecile and Allegra trying to help a one-off antagonist from season 4, one of the most derided seasons of the show? I don’t think anyone cares about Becky Sharpe, and we definitely don’t care about her fiancé who has never had a single line. There’s just…what else is there to say about this episode other than utter bewilderment that this was an episode in the final season of the series?

There’s also the drama of Cecile being sad that Joe and Jenna left, which is just so forced. Joe’s exit storyline felt completely unlike the character and it honestly would’ve made more sense (and been much more impactful) to kill him off in some shape or form. He very easily could’ve been killed off by Red Death while saving someone or putting a wrench into her plans. And yet, they did this. Every choice that’s been made this season is either the worst choice or, and I hate ever saying this, the laziest choice possible.

To be honest, when the best thing about an episode is a fun use of Frank Sinatra’s “Luck Be a Lady,” you know that the episode failed miserably.

Teaching

On top of whatever’s going on with the A-plot of the episode, there’s also the B-plot of Chillblaine trying to teach Khione how to use her possible ice powers in order to try and get Frost back. And, yet again, who cares? Chillblaine should’ve died two episodes ago and there’s absolutely been no reason to invest into Khione at this point.

It’s honestly so difficult to say anything about this episode. It felt like there was no point to much of anything that was going and, even if there was, it was something with questionable build-up. It’s nearly impossible to get invested in an episode when everything feels like that.

Oh, and then there’s the fact that Barry, you know, the title character of The Flash, is only on-screen for 30 seconds. Yes, I counted. 30 seconds. In the final season. Of a show. Called The Flash. That’s an impossibly stupid decision.

It’s taken 9 seasons, and there’s still 7 episodes left of this season, but this episode might officially take the cake as the worst episode of The Flash.
