Sean Bean as Perry White

Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, has been a staple character in the Superman comics and adaptations for decades. It’s likely that he will play a significant role in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman film. As a mentor figure and father figure to Clark Kent, Perry could offer guidance and advice to the young hero as he navigates his dual identity during his early days as a superhero.

In the comics, Perry is often depicted as a gruff but lovable character with a strong sense of ethics and a deep commitment to journalistic integrity. He could provide a moral compass for Clark and help him understand the importance of using his powers for good. Perry’s relationship with Lois Lane could also be explored, as the two characters have a long history of working together and occasionally clashing. Who better than the amazing Sean Bean to bring him to life?

Gunn will need some excellent veteran actors to surround his young cast, and Bean would bring out the best in Perry White. It’s easy to imagine White being the father figure to Clark in his home away from home in Metropolis. He could also serve as a character tool that exposes Clark to the darker side of humanity, given the assignments he sends him on.
