White Tiger: Fan casting the three heroes in the MCU
Jenna Ortega is rumored to play White Tiger, but three different individuals have held the mantle over the years. So, who should play the role in the MCU?
One of the more recent Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors suggests that White Tiger could be making a live-action debut. Naturally, Marvel fans have speculated who should take on the role of the Latino/Hispanic hero. Wednesday star Jenna Ortega is among the names rumored to bring White Tiger to life in Daredevil: Born Again. Given her age and knowing the history of the hero, she could be playing the Ava Ayala version of the character.
However, there is a lot more to White Tiger than just the young hero. When it comes to comics, there is something deeper to explore. White Tiger brings a different type of lore, which is a good thing for the MCU. Before we get to casting, there are some things you should know.
White Tiger and The Amulet of Power
Marvel Comics fans understand the rich history and intricate backstory that spans several decades. One of the most interesting aspects of White Tiger is the magical Amulet of Power that gives the wearer superhuman strength, agility, and senses.
The Amulet of Power is a crucial element in the White Tiger mythology, and its introduction into the MCU could open up a whole new world of possibilities. Hardcore Marvel fans know the Amulet as a mystical object that grants its wearer enhanced strength, agility, and senses, as well as the ability to generate deadly energy claws.
Before White Tiger, the Amulet of Power was first introduced in the 1970s in the pages of The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu. The amulet was worn by three individuals who formed the Sons of the Tiger, a group of martial artists who fought crime together. Imagine the MCU taking a trip way back in time with the Sons of the Tiger mini-series or a one-off film.
What White Tiger would mean for the MCU
Introducing the Amulet and the White Tiger into the MCU could provide an opportunity to explore the fantastical aspects of the Marvel Universe. We saw the MCU’s willingness to explore magical lore with Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and WandaVision. So, the amulet of power would be a perfect addition to this expanding universe.
Kevin Feige expanded the MCU beyond films. We know Marvel Studios could be cutting back on the TV shows in the future, but there is an incredible opportunity to introduce White Tiger to a new generation of fans and to explore the rich history and lore of this amazing character.
With three unique characters who have held the mantle, the possibilities for storytelling are endless. Whether it’s a movie or a TV series, we can’t wait to see White Tiger in action on the big screen.
With rumors of the White Tiger possibly appearing in Daredevil: Born Again, it’s time fans get to know the hero, and who should play the role.
