No one knows whether Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe. If she doesn’t, there are some solid choices who could replace her in the role.

Let’s get one thing straight. There is no reason for James Gunn and Peter Safran to recast Wonder Woman in their DC Universe. DC Fans love Gal Gadot’s portrayal of her in the DCEU movies, as she embodies everything they wanted in Wonder Woman. However, it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. When Gadot first got cast as Wonder Woman, some fans had their doubts, mostly from not seeing her in anything outside of The Fast and the Furious movies. But she quickly proved them wrong.

From looking the part to her acting prowess, Gadot proves she’s everything we need in Wonder Woman. Since donning the tiara and lasso, the 36-year-old actress has become one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood. Most fans don’t want to see her go, but there is a chance Gadot may not be Wonder Woman in the future since Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 is not moving forward.

James Gunn has denied rumors he will recast Gadot, but that could all change after The Flash. If the DC Universe hits the restart button, with 2025 being the official launch of Gunn’s and Peter Safran’s DCU, things could change. So, if Gadot is recast, there are some actresses who could take up the mantle.

Honorable mentions: Before Gal Gadot donned the iconic tiara and lasso, fans had already envisioned Adrianne Palicki and Gina Carano as the perfect actresses to play Wonder Woman. Palicki may have had a brief stint as the Amazonian princess in a 2011 pilot for NBC, but unfortunately, it was never picked up. She went on to appear in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and John Wick.

On the other hand, Carano looks like Wonder Woman ripped straight from the comics. She got to kick some serious butt as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, though some controversial social media posts saw her lose her role in the hit series. Eiza González is another name that comes up in some fan cast circles for Wonder Woman, though she is favored to play another DC role.
