In an interview with a British film mag, Empire, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal baited the idea of Miles Morales being introduced to live-action…

As per Empire, the former co-chairperson of the Motion Pictures Group at Sony Studios, Sony TV and film producer, Amy Pascal, gave a new spin (no pun intended) on a potential live-action appearance of Miles Morales during an interview.

The world got to experience the Afro-Latino American Spider-Man for the first time on the big screen with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse back in December 2018. A movie Pascal was also behind as a producer through her production label, Pascal Pictures. Now, Morales will return in the upcoming animated film sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, with Shameik Moore reprising his role.

Donald Glover introduced as Aaron Davis (known in the Ultimate Marvel imprint) of comics to be not only Miles’ uncle (but also the Prowler) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and a fair amount of exposure to the character even in video games not to mention a vague reference from Jamie Foxx’s Electro in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home the stage is already set.

There have been certain ideas floating about that are flirting over voice actor, Moore, to reprise his role as Morales this time in live-action. While Foxx himself and some others think he would be great for the role, the decision rests solely on Marvel Studios and Sony Pics.

Where and when should we expect Miles Morales’ live-action debut?

Acknowledging Pascal is playing her cards close to her chest – the British Mag braced for it – as she teased. Her response was: “[Fans will] have to wait a couple of years to see what we do.” It is commonly known to Spidey fans, pundits, and cinephiles alike that Sony and Marvel are developing Spider-Man 4 as part of a new trilogy. It is likely Morales would appear in either a standalone Spider-Man opposite Tom Holland or any one of the subsequent MCU film projects.

Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, stated in an interview with EW that the story for the fourth movie was complete and the writers are beginning to pen the film’s script.

Whoever their Morales will be, it’s likely they will go with an unknown to portray the Kid Arachnid. Moore, 27, is older than Holland, 26, by a year although there are various ways they can age the actor down if Sony/Marvel decides to go with him.

It was rumored by infamous Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman (as reported by The Direct) that Sony may explore the possibility of rolling Morales in their own shared universe outside of the MCU. It is too early to say but the likely reality is for Morales to be within the MCU and debut in the new Spidey trilogy.
