Marvel: All 4 Hulk actors ranked from worst to best
By Cody Schultz
3. Edward Norton
Edward Norton’s portrayal of Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, in the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk was a performance that is still talked about to this day. Norton’s acting skills and dedication to the role shone through, and he managed to capture the character’s inner turmoil and struggle with his dual identity flawlessly.
Norton’s take on the Hulk was unique and refreshing, with the character being portrayed as a more introspective and introspective figure, rather than a mindless brute. Norton’s acting range allowed him to explore the complexities of the character, showing both the Hulk’s immense power and the deep pain he carries within.
However, despite Norton’s fantastic performance, he was never able to fully flesh out the character due to the role being recast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of the character were disappointed when Norton was replaced by Mark Ruffalo (more on him to come), with many feeling that the character’s potential had been cut short.
It’s a shame that Norton’s version of the Hulk was never given the chance to grow and develop within the MCU, as he had laid the groundwork for a truly iconic portrayal. Nevertheless, Norton’s performance will always be remembered as an impressive and nuanced take on the character, and a testament to his abilities as an actor.
