The Marvel Cinematic Universe would be nowhere without Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. We’re discussing all three Iron Man movies and ranking them from worst to best!

As Marvel fans here at Bam Smack Pow, we can confidently say that the Iron Man movies are a crucial part of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, and we don’t think any of our fellow fans would disagree. The films follow the story of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), a billionaire industrialist who creates a high-tech suit of armor to become the titular superhero.

The first movie sets up the character’s origin story and introduces us to his charming wit, technological skills, and determination to protect the world. It’s wild to think the first Iron Man entry came out all the way back in 2008 and served as the first film in the MCU!

The two sequels that follow dive deeper into Tony’s personal struggles, his relationships with other superheroes like the Avengers, and his ongoing battle against his own inner demons.

What makes these movies so influential for the MCU is the way they establish the interconnectedness of this entire universe. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Tony Stark is just iconic at this point, and his humor and vulnerability as an actor really help to humanize the character.

The Iron Man movies set up many of the key elements that later films expand upon, such as the introduction of S.H.I.E.L.D., the concept of the Avengers, and the use of post-credits scenes to tease future movies. All in all, the Iron Man trilogy is an exciting, action-packed, and emotional journey that no MCU fan should miss.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to our readers that Iron Man is widely regarded as one of the best members of the Avengers, and a favorite character of the MCU for many.

Flip the page and journey with us as we break down each of the three movies and rank them from worst to best!
