Marvel’s Secret Invasion experiences disappointing and aggravating release update
Following a speculative reshuffling of Phase Five of the MCU’s slate of films and series for theatrical and Disney Plus, Secret Invasion receives a frustrating release update…
There have been quite a lot of significant changes to the House of Mouse that has affected the slate of films and series of their studios they have under their roster, since media mogul, Bob Iger, reintegrated himself back into The Walt Disney Co., these changes are not as apparent to what has been going on under Marvel Studios.
Via a report from The Direct, it was stated that the six-episode miniseries, Secret Invasion, will shift its release window from spring 2023 to June with a reported release date of June 21, 2023. Beforehand, it was listed as “Coming Soon” on the official Disney website.
What is Secret Invasion about?
Loosely based on the 2008 storyline of the same name by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Leinil Francis Yu it is a crossover event consisting of eight issues centered on the shape-shifting group of aliens called Skrulls that impersonate many associates of the superhero community within the Marvel Universe and infiltrate Earth’s defenses.
The MCU version of Secret Invasion sees Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Cobie Smulders reprise their roles as Nick Fury, Talos, and Maria Hill respectively as they deal with a faction of Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth behind the scenes for years. It is a direct follow-up to Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
