Jacob Elordi as Superman

Gunn and Safran made it clear that Superman will be the face of the DCU. Let’s get this out of the way. Wolfgang Novogratz is a Superman clone in the same vein as Tom Welling, Henry Cavill, and Brandon Routh — he’s only 25. Austin Butler has become a household name thanks to his portrayal of Elvis and now he’s become one of the many names being tossed around for the Man of Steel. Nicholas Hoult has the looks and stature to play both Clark Kent and Superman. Liam Hemsworth is another nice option, but the man James Gunn and Peter Safran should build their universe around is Jacob Elordi.

Like Wolfgang Novogratz, Elordi is a relative unknown who has made his name around fan cast circles. In Euphoria, he played the troubled and aggressive jock Nate Jacobs, showcasing his ability to portray a character with depth and nuance. In The Kissing Booth, he played the charming and romantic Noah Flynn, proving that he can also handle a leading man role. With his range, Elordi could bring a fresh take to the character of Superman.

Elordi is a tall and imposing figure, standing at 6’4. This is the kind of stature that we need for a character like Superman, who is known for his impressive physique and strength. Elordi’s chiseled features and piercing blue eyes also add to his overall appeal, making him a perfect fit for the role.
