Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the best Harry Potter movie, and it’s not that close in my opinion. The film is the third movie of the franchise, and it builds on the first two stories.
In the film, the man responsible for killing Harry’s parents, Sirius Black, played by Gary Oldman, has escaped the wizard prison in Azkaban. Rumor has it that he’s coming to finish the job and kill Harry at Hogwarts. Harry spends most of the movie trying to get to the bottom of this mystery and avoid being captured by Sirius Black.
This is also the most important part of the early Harry Potter books, and it launches the story forward in a huge way. Viewers learn a very crucial detail about Harry’s parents, their past, and what actually happened to them. It takes the story in a whole new direction.
On top of that, there are so many incredible moments and aspects in this movie: Hogsmeade, Professor Lupin, the Dementors, the Marauder’s Map, and time travel! It’s a shame that Alfonso Cuaron couldn’t have directed the rest of the Harry Potter movies.
That’s the list of the Harry Potter movies ranked worst to best. What do you think about the ranking?
