Storm is dead

Marvel comic: Storm and the Brotherhood of Mutants

After Nathaniel Essex (Mr. Sinister) took over the world, Storm was one of the few mutants or heroes still opposing his rule. She continued to fight the good fight for a hundred years despite losing friends, family, and an entire planet along the way.

Finally, after a century of losses, Storm and the Brotherhood got a big win. In order to get that victory, Storm pushed her omega level powers to the limit and created a wormhole to get her teammates to safety – a move that led to the iconic X-Men hero’s death.

This happens in a reality that will likely disappear once the Sins of Sinister arc is over. Nevertheless, it was still sad to see Storm die. Even after living to be over a hundred in a reality that isn’t the prime Earth.

Nightmare controls the Brood

Marvel comic: X-Men No. 20

Back in X-Men No. 4 (in 2021) Jean Grey defeated a Doctor Strange villain by the name of Nightmare. This wasn’t just a loss. Jean Grey embarrassed them. Unfortunately, villains like Nightmare don’t take losses and walk away. They always come back with a vengeance. In this case, Nightmare snuck into Broo’s dreams and used his control over the Brood to put the X-Men and multiple aliens in danger.

Nightmare may be winning now, but he’s not going to like how this will end. Not only did they put the lives of innocent people in danger, Nightmare hurt Jean Grey’s friends.
