DC has offered up our first look at the new animated DC Comics series, My Adventures With Superman. Check out the first new trailer!

On April 6, WB and DC officially released a first-hand look at My Adventures With Superman, confirming that Adult Swim has formally picked up the series after HBO MAX passed on the project.

From the opening seconds of the simple trailer, it’s clear the animation feels similar to the tone of the original teen titans from the early turn 2000s, along with feeling like Amazon’s Invincible. The choice and style to approach the project with the flair of anime feel like the correct choice, and the warm color palette once again gives life and a sense of reality to the city of Metropolis.

Now, details are limited, besides that Jack Quaid (The Boys) and Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) lead the voice cast as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively. Ishmel Sahid plays Jimmy Olsen, and Brainiac will be brought to life by Michael Emerson.

According to the official synopsis, “My Adventures With Superman catches up with twenty-somethings Clark Kent, the bright and driven Lois Lane, and their best friend Jimmy Olsen as they begin to discover who they are and everything they can accomplish together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet.”

The premise sounds like a simple move, but also a smart one for DC because, for many, this is the first series or foray into the lore and iconic history of the loveable and goofy blue boy scout. Also, it’s almost been 20 years since Superman had his actual own animated series.

Of course, the character has guest starred or been a significant piece and essential thread of the Justice League animated series, Young Justice. It counts the record of decent and great animated films and the possible tease of what DC and WB have in store for the character. Superman fans have a lot to not only celebrate but to rejoice about.

Superman and Lois is flying high with a phenomenal season 3 currently taking place, and James Gunn has a new Superman film in the works.

It may be time to fly up, up, and Away, Superman fans because My Adventures With Superman lands this summer on Adult Swim.
