Aegon’s Conquest is coming to HBO and we couldn’t wait to fan cast the Targaryen dynasty and more for the Game of Thrones prequel series

Game of Thrones is a full-on universe and George R.R. Martin still hasn’t finished the series, I digress. GOT fans, I hope you’re ready to travel back in time to the world of Westeros because there might be some exciting news for you. HBO reportedly has plans to bring Aegon’s Conquest to the small screen, and it is going to be epic.

For those of you who may not know, Aegon’s conquest was a pivotal moment in Westeros’s history. It was a time when Aegon Targaryen, along with his sisters Rhaenys and Visenya, conquered the Seven Kingdoms and united them under one rule. This period is known as the Targaryen dynasty and is where we get our favorite dragon-riding queen, Daenerys Targaryen.

With HBO, we are bound to see dragons. Lots and lots of dragons. The Targaryens’ most potent weapon was their ability to ride and command the fire-breathing beasts. In typical HBO fashion, fans can expect stunning visuals and epic battles. HBO has a reputation for producing some of the most visually stunning television ever made, and we have no doubt that this series will be no exception.

From the fiery destruction of Harrenhal to the legendary Field of Fire, we’re in for some truly breathtaking moments. But, what really sets this series apart is the potential for political intrigue.

What you need to know about Aegon’s Conquest

Aegon’s conquest is known in the series as the War of Conquest. It was not just a military campaign, but it was also a masterclass in diplomacy. Aegon had to navigate the treacherous waters of Westerosi politics, making alliances and negotiating with lords who were reluctant to submit to his rule.

The War of Conquest involved several houses and characters, and we can’t wait to see how they could be portrayed on screen. For example, there’s House Stark, whose king, Torrhen Stark, was the last to submit to Aegon’s rule. Then there’s House Lannister, whose ruler, Loren Lannister, was killed during the Field of Fire battle. And let’s not forget about House Hoare, who ruled the Iron Islands and put up a significant fight against Aegon’s forces.

Let’s not kid ourselves, the most compelling characters will be the Targaryens themselves. We’ll get to see Aegon’s cunning and determination as he wages war against the Seven Kingdoms. We’ll witness the fierce loyalty of his sisters, Rhaenys and Visenya, who fought by his side and proved themselves to be just as deadly as their brother.

We’ll get to see how the Seven Kingdoms were ruled before Aegon’s conquest and how their cultures and customs changed under Targaryen rule. We’ll also learn more about the ancient Valyrian empire and the magic that gave the Targaryens their dragon-riding abilities.

There are endless reasons why HBO’s potential series on the War of Conquest could be amazing. Fans can expect dragons, battles, political intrigue, and a deeper understanding of the world of Westeros. So, get ready to dive back into the Seven Kingdoms, because winter may be coming, but so is the War of Conquest and we have the best fan cast.

Don’t expect to see a ton of well-known actors on this list, given the history of HBO casting for these shows. Let’s take a stab in the dark and have some fun, shall we?
