Thunderbolts may finally kickstart the X-Men’s MCU debut

Here’s how Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts will give another clue to the arrival of the X-Men.
If there’s one thing that Marvel Comics fans have patiently waited for, it is the introduction of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There have been mentions of mutants like Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Kamala Khan being announced as a mutant in Ms. Marvel. However, there have been no X-Men.
The closest reference has been in She-Hulk Attorney at Law, in which there was an article about a guy with metal claws in a bar fight. That was obviously a hint to Wolverine. If you’re a fan of Marvel Studios then you know things like this are mentioned for a reason. It looks like you’d be correct.
As reported by CBR.com, The Hot Mic Podcast suggests that Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine will be looking for Adamanitum in Thunderbolts.
If you’re a fan of Marvel Comics, then you may be confused by this. There’s not a big connection to the X-Men and the Thunderbolts. The normally villain-filled team goes up against the Avengers more than any other superhero team. However, if the reports are correct, this makes sense for a couple of reasons.
First, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine has been planning and making moves for a while. Going for an unbreakable metal is smart. Especially if it means avoiding Wakanda or Talokan. As fans may have seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she doesn’t want to fight either nation. Even if Valentina’s team wins, would it be worth the loss?
Second, this could be another tease that the X-Men are coming. Who knows, maybe this is how Marvel Studios will introduce Logan. Wolverine is the most notable person to have adamantium in their body. Instead of Weapon X, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine could be the one who adds the metal to Logan’s skeleton. Or, and this is a longshot, what if it’s going to Bullseye? He was getting the metal at the end of Daredevil season 3 and he was a Thunderbolt in the comics.
When it comes to Valentina Allegra de Fontaine getting adamantium, it would be a change from the comics, but that’s not a bad thing. The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t the comics. It may be frustrating that things change from the stories we read, but Earth-199999 is an alternate reality with new adventures. Some things are going to be different. If the story is good, as fans, we should embrace the change. Although, if Deadpool has swords coming out of his fists, optic blasts, and no mouth, then there’s definitely a problem.
