8. Clare Foley

Clare Foley’s performance as a young Poison Ivy in FOX’s Gotham was a standout in the series. Despite being a young actress at the time, Foley delivered a performance that was both captivating and convincing, bringing to life a character who would eventually become one of Batman’s most iconic villains.

In her portrayal of Ivy, Foley captured the character’s complex mix of vulnerability and manipulation, as well as her deep connection to nature. Her ability to convey a wide range of emotions, from innocence to rage, made her a memorable presence on screen.

Unfortunately, the character of Ivy was recast after season three, with Maggie Geha taking over the role. This meant that we never really got to see Foley’s version of the character come into her own, which was a disappointment for many fans.

Despite this, Foley’s performance as a young Poison Ivy remains a high point in Gotham’s early seasons. Her natural talent and ability to bring depth to the character set the stage for Geha and later Peyton List to take on the role, and she will always be remembered as the first actress to bring this iconic character to life in the series.
