DC: Asher Angel stuns as Superman in jaw-dropping image

As fans wait to see who will suit up next as Superman, we’ve got a first look at what Asher Angel could look like in the role if given the chance.

A new Superman movie is on the horizon, and fans are buzzing with excitement. While details about the plot and cast are still under wraps, we know the movie will introduce a fresh take on the iconic superhero as well as a completely new actor in the role of Clark Kent/Superman.

We’re referring to Shazam star Asher Angel, whose name was tossed into the mix by comic book insider Matt Ramos on Twitter with a tweet that has sparked a conversation among DC fans and inspired one talented artist who has given us a look at what Angel could look like as the Man of Steel.

What Asher Angel could look like as Superman

Inspired by Matt Ramos’ tweet in support of seeing Asher Angel take on the role of Clark Kent aka Superman, digital artist Aki the Full has debuted a stunning new concept art envisioning the young actor as the Man of Steel.

"“As of until yesterday I didn’t have my pick for the new Superman cast, but then I saw a tweet from [Matt Ramos] with Asher Angel set on the lead role, joke or not, I really liked the idea, so I immediately jumped on it and spent hours hand painting this piece,” Aki wrote in an Instagram post introducing the art. “I really want to see a younger Supes and going forward Asher is my perfect fit, Bro was great in Shazam and I’m sure he’d do wonders as Clark.”"

In the jaw-dropping concept art, Angel is transformed into DC’s beloved hero complete with the character’s iconic blue and red super suit in a piece of concept art that makes a strong argument for why DC should consider Angel for the role. Angel bares a striking physical resemblance to the character, as well as his acting ability and natural charisma. With his chiseled jawline, piercing blue eyes, and strong physique, Angel looks like he stepped right out of a comic book and the fan art from Aki showcases just incredible he could be in the role.

How old is Asher Angel?

As Asher Angel was born on September 6, 2022, the Shazam actor will be turning 21 in 2023 which would technically make him younger than any actor we’ve seen play Superman on the big screen before. However, that’s part of what makes him such a standout choice.
