Marvel Studios’ upcoming Blade reboot has added horror icon Mia Goth to its star-studded cast in a mysterious new role.

Marvel Studios gains a superior talent and looks to bolden their roster of characters with horror actress Mia Goth.

On April 12, Deadline reported that English actress Mia Goth has officially joined the MCU and is attached to star in Marvel Studios’ Blade reboot.

Goth has been a critic and fan favorite alike from her recent appearances in the X series. She is most notably known for her display of range and a key distinction from other films such as Nymphomaniac, Everest, A Cure for Wellness, Suspiria, High Life, Emma, and Infinity Pool.

As of now, plot details are currently unknown at this time as well as who Goth would be playing. While disappointing, this isn’t unusual for Marvel Studios which is notorious for casting actors in roles without providing information on their characters.

Goth joins a cast headlined by two-time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter, with Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Milan Ray rounding out the supporting cast.

Yann Demange takes the helm in the directors’ chair, with Michael Starrbury on board to write the script and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing.

Director Bassam Tariq was previously attached to direct before stepping down from the project last September. In addition to Tariq departing the MCU reboot, Stacy Osei-Kuffour and Beau DeMayo wrote prior script versions. Still, it’s being reported and believed that Starrbury started from scratch, crafting and writing an all-new iteration that the studio and Ali have presumably approved.

Blade is set to hit theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
