The Penguin MAX series adds Casts Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, David H. Holmes
The Penguin has added a handful of new actors to its cast including Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, David H. Holmes. Here’s what we know about these new additions!
On Apr 10, Variety and other trades revealed that actors Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, and David H. Holmes would officially join The Penguin series in recurring roles.
The recent additions will join a star-studded cast led by Colin Farrell, who is returning to reprise his role as Oswald Cobblepott from Matt Reeves The Batman. Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, and Clancy Brown.
The trade has revealed that character details for Ejogo, Chau, and Holmes are being kept under wraps.
Earlier today, WB officially released a first-hand look that featured glimpses of the project from behind the scenes and official footage. The plot details revealed are that the series will take place after the immediate events of The Batman, along with being the next chapter in Reeves’s The Batman Saga. Next after the Penguin series is The Batman: Part II, currently slated for release in 2025.
Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is on board as showrunner and exec producer along with The Batman writer-director Matt Reeves. Executive producer Craig Zobel (Mare of Easttown) directs the first three episodes.
The Penguin is set to premiere at some point in 2024 on WB’s newly rebranded streaming service MAX (which was once HBO MAX).
