James Gunn is still settling in at DC, but he’s already found a way to start poaching stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for his new DC Universe.

With James Gunn now at the helm of DC, there is a growing sense of excitement and speculation about the potential for DC to start stealing talent from Marvel. Gunn has already expressed a desire to work with some of his MCU colleagues in his new role, which has led to rumors that DC could start poaching talent from its rival studio.

This is not an entirely new phenomenon, as the two rival comic book giants have been known to poach talent from each other in the past. However, with Gunn’s recent comments, the idea of DC stealing MCU talent has become more tangible and has generated a lot of buzz in the comic book community.

It remains to be seen just how concerned Marvel should be about DC poaching talent from them, but with Gunn’s track record and his connections in the industry, there definitely should be a reason for concern over at Marvel Studios. After all, this isn’t a theoretical question any longer, actors are already starting to jump from Marvel to DC.

What Marvel actors have left for DC?

Currently, there are three known actors who have already made the jump from Marvel to DC by way of the new animated DC original series Creature Commandos. In announcing the cast, Collider revealed that the new series’s cast includes Frank Grillo, David Harbour, and Maria Bakalova.

The trio will help to voice the characters Rick Flag Sr, Eric Frankenstein, and Princess Ilana Rostovic, respectively, in the new series which will begin as an animated series with the potential for some characters to cross over into the live-action DC Universe. Their casting in the project makes them the first three MCU stars to officially board a DC project from Gunn and company, and it’s unlikely they’ll be the last. (Sean Gunn has also joined the cast, but let’s not forget he had already appeared in DC projects before James Gunn accepted his current role.)

Several members of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast have already expressed an interest in moving over to DC to continue to work with Gunn. As such, it’s not out of the question that more MCU stars could soon make the jump to the new DC Universe which would make things quite interesting for fans of the comic genre.
