While there won’t be a new episode of Gotham Knights tonight on the CW, the break could help get fans into the show.
Sometimes it takes a little while for new TV shows to find their stride, especially when it comes to comic book projects. They aren’t all going to be as great as WandaVision or Loki in their first episode, especially with a show in Gotham City without the Dark Knight himself. That brings us to The CW’s newest DC Comics project, Gotham Knights. A show that started off pretty shaky. However, episode 4 showed the series true potential.
Gotham Knights is without Batman. The Dark Knight is as much Gotham City as Superman is Metropolis. Not having him is bad enough. It’s another to have him killed in the first episode. There’s also the characters. Bruce Wayne’s adopted son isn’t Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, or any of the other comic book wards of Batman. It’s a character created for the show named Turner Hayes (played by Oscar Morgan), who looks and behaves like most of the male protagonists in a CW project. Thankfully, Carrie Kelley (Navia Ziraili Robinson), Harper Row (Fallon Smythe), her brother Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara), Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan), and Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) have all been fantastic.
But will they all be back for another adventure this week?
Is Gotham Knights new tonight, April 18?
If you’re hoping to watch a new episode of Gotham Knights tonight, you’ll be sad to know that it won’t be airing a new installment this week.
The show has taken its first break from The CW this week. Its airing companion, Superman and Lois, will also be taking a brief hiatus. Thankfully, you won’t have long to wait until both return.
When does Gotham Knights return to The CW?
Gotham Knights will be back with new episodes on The CW on Tuesday, April 25, at 9:00 p.m. ET. The upcoming sixth episode will see the introduction of infamous Batman villain Joe Chill.
That makes it a good time to get into the show if you haven’t already. Today, a lot of people would rather binge a show instead of waiting for a new episode every week. Gotham Knights is an example of this. It could be easier for viewers to get into the characters if they can watch them all at once. Thankfully, the first five episodes can be watched for free on CWTV.com.
