10. A talk with Howard Stark

Movie: Avengers: Endgame

For most of Tony’s life, he thought his father (Howard Stark) didn’t care about him. He was always on Tony to be a better person and tried to get him to stop wasting his potential. Before Tony could make amends, his father was killed in what he thought was a car accident (we’ll discuss what really happened later). This caused Tony to develop all sorts of issues that plagued him most of his adult life. In Avengers: Endgame, Tony found out what was really going on in his father’s head.

During a mission to get one of the Infinity Stones, Tony encountered his father by accident while traveling to the past. It just so happened that Tony’s mother (Maria Stark) was pregnant with Tony. Howard went on to tell Tony (who obviously didn’t know it was his son) that he was terrified of having a child and would do anything to protect him. This gave Tony some insight into how his father really felt. Howard only wanted what was best for him.

Tony hated his dad. He always felt that he was chasing his ghost and would never be the person he wanted him to be. It also didn’t help that the last time he saw his father they left on bad terms. This encounter gave Tony the moment he needed. He got a chance to talk to his dad and hug him one more time. It was a beautiful moment.
