Marvel fans can’t stop speculating who will be cast as the Fantastic Four when the characters are brought into the MCU. Here’s what AI thinks.

Upon hearing the swirling rumors that Adam Driver might be the actor chosen to play the coveted role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming movie, we can’t help but wonder who will be rounding out the cast. Of course, the superhero team consists of three other characters, including Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/Thing.

The Office star John Krasinski portrayed a version of Reed Richards in a different multiverse in the Doctor Strange sequel, Multiverse of Madness, and many are still holding out hope he might return for the Fantastic Four movie. Krasinski as the beloved character had been a major fan-cast, as well as his wife Emily Blunt as Invisible Woman. Though the actress has pretty much debunked any possibility that she’ll take on the role, Marvel fans still want it to happen. And evidently, so does AI.

AI wants Emily Blunt to play Invisible Woman in the MCU’s Fantastic Four

We decided to have a little fun with the AI tool ChatGPT by asking it who it thinks should play the next Invisible Woman. Clearly, ChatGPT knows what it’s talking about here because I don’t think many would disagree with its take! Check out its response:

"As a Marvel fan, I believe that the role of Invisible Woman should go to none other than Emily Blunt. Not only is she a talented actress with a proven track record of bringing complex and compelling characters to life, but she also has the perfect blend of strength, vulnerability, and intelligence that makes her an ideal fit for the role.Plus, Emily Blunt has never played a role for Marvel Studios before, which means that she would bring a fresh perspective to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And given her previous work in action movies like Edge of Tomorrow and Sicario, there’s no doubt that she would be able to hold her own alongside the other superheroes of the MCU.So whether she’s using her invisibility powers to sneak around undetected or creating invisible force fields to protect her allies, I have no doubt that Emily Blunt would be the perfect choice to play Invisible Woman in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie."

So what are the actual chances the A Quiet Place actress will take on the role? Well, after a string of fan-castings and rumors, Blunt weighed in on the possibility of playing Sue Storm back in 2021. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem eager to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe anymore. While a guest on The Howard Stern Show, the actress clarified: “That is fan-casting. No one has received a phone call. That’s just people saying, ‘Wouldn’t that be great?’”

Blunt almost played the role of Black Widow in the MCU but had to drop out due to scheduling issues. The part, of course, then went to Scarlett Johansson. The actress explained why that role might have been the only exception she’d be willing to make for the superhero genre:

"“I love Iron Man and when I got offered Black Widow I was obsessed with Iron Man. I wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr. It would’ve been amazing. But I don’t know if superhero movies are for me. They’re not up my alley. I don’t like them. I really don’t.”"

So sadly, although we agree with ChatGPT that Blunt would be an awesome Invisible Woman, the casting doesn’t seem likely. Other names that have been tossed around for the role by MCU fans include Rachel Brosnahan, Lily James, Emilia Clarke, Alice Eve, and Saoirse Ronan.

Hopefully, we won’t have too long now until the official cast for Fantastic Four is announced. The MCU movie is currently scheduled for a Feb. 14, 2025 theatrical premiere date.
