Untitled Rick and Michonne spinoff

Release window: Early 2024

The series that TWD fans have been waiting for since Andrew Lincoln left the show back in season 9, the Rick and Michonne spinoff series was initially envisioned as a trilogy of films designed to show us what Rick Grimes had gotten up to since his departure. But after few updates, it was revealed at The Walking Dead‘s final Comic-Con panel that Lincoln and Danai Gurira would be back as Rick and Michonne in a new series instead.

This one is set to be a six-part drama that will bring Rick and Michonne back together again after years apart, answering questions about the Civic Republic Military’s role in Rick’s disappearance, and what Michonne has been up to since her own departure in season 10 to search for him.

It was initially expected to have a 2023 release date, but with filming only commencing in February this year and multiple TWD spinoffs already on the way, AMC announced that it would arrive early next year instead.

We’ve waited years to see Rick and Michonne back together, so we can definitely wait a little bit longer.
