Rumor: The Flash director may also helm The Brave and the Bold movie

There is a rumor going out that the director behind the It saga and The Flash may also be attached to direct The Brave and the Bold.

With The Flash set to finally come to cinemas and open to the public in just about two months while is set to have its world premiere next week at CinemaCon on April 25, things seem to be looking up despite the box office bomb of Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

As reported by Murphy’s Multiverse, there was a rumor rill going around that Andy Muschietti is attached to direct The Brave and the Bold, which is based on the high praise from the film centered on the Scarlet Speedster headlined by Ezra Miller. This was according to r/DCEUleaks via Reddit.

What is The Brave and the Bold about?

Based on the Grant Morrison run in the Batman and Son arc, The Brave and the Bold, is set to feature another actor to portray a version of Bruce Wayne in his prime crime-fighting career as Batman and the Damian Wayne version of Robin who was trained by the League of Assassins. It is also set to feature other members of The Bat Family.

Will Andy Muschietti direct The Brave and the Bold?

As this is merely speculation, it is too early to say whether Muschietti will direct The Brave and the Bold as we may have to wait for subsequent announcements before we can affirm this is indeed fact. The likelihood will be after the release of The Flash to the public.

What is interesting to note is filmmaker and one-half of the studio heads at DC Studios, James Gunn approached Ben Affleck for a role behind the camera and their current slate and it was previously rumored that the Air filmmaker and star set to don the cowl one last time on The Flash was offered the project.

The Flash stars Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton, Ron Livingston, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, and Rudy Mancuso.

Andy Muschietti is directing from a screenplay by Christina Hodson based on a screen story by Hodson, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco are producing. Marianne Jenkins serves as an executive producer.

The high-speed multiversal superhero film is being produced by The Disco Factory in association with Double Dream and DC Studios. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing.

The Flash is set to exit the Speed Force and hit theaters on June 16, 2023.
