Rosario Dawson

There are a lot of reasons why Rosario Dawson could potentially portray Poison Ivy in the DC Universe. Considering she is a truly versatile actress it makes sense that we would look to her for a role that features a very unique character.

Having seen Dawson in movies such as Rent and Sin City, or shows such as The Mandalorian, Daredevil, and Luke Cage (and other Marvel on Netflix programs), we know that she can take on a role as diverse as Poison Ivy. Not only do we think she would easily portray a brilliant scientist, but there is something seductive about Rosario Dawson when she steps on our screens. She could easily be a villain who uses her wiles to get what she wants.

At the same time, we can easily see her taking on Batman and winning, and we can absolutely see her using plants and flowers to make a statement. Basically, there is just something about the presence that Dawson brings to any role that has us believing that she could easily take on the role of a genius botanist turned eco-terrorist (although there have been times in the comics where she was more of an antihero, which is also a role we could see the actress stepping into).

And while some might say that at 43 years old she is potentially too old to take on a role that could last for years, we have to point out that her age actually gives her a sense of gravity and maturity that makes sense for Poison Ivy. Plus, it is hard to deny that we have older superheroes (and villains) already on our screens, but in those cases, it’s the men and we don’t say anything about them being in their 40s and taking on these grueling roles.
