Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

What is up with these Game of Thrones actors on ChatGPT’s list? I’m not into it, I’m sorry! Nikolaj Coster-Waldau did an awesome job bringing Jaime Lannister to life in all eight seasons of Thrones, and it was a role he’ll always be known for. He received two Emmy Award nominations and was widely praised for his portrayal. Because of that, however, it wouldn’t make sense for him to be cast as Aegon the Conqueror. There are other actors out there, AI!

Let’s take a look at ChatGPT’s explanation for this pick:

"“Another Game of Thrones alum, Coster-Waldau’s performance as Jaime Lannister proved that he’s capable of playing complex characters with shades of grey. His suave demeanor and regal bearing would make him a natural fit for Aegon.”"

I definitely disagree. Yes, Coster-Waldau is very talented and is able to play complex characters, but honestly, I’d rather see him playing an antagonist. He’s more interesting that way! Plus, at 52 years old, he’d be too old to portray Aegon I. There’s absolutely no debating that. There are plenty of other well-established and beloved franchises out there we could rally for Coster-Waldau to join. After cementing his role as Jaime Lannister, he’d be well-suited elsewhere for any future projects.

The Danish actor will always have a special place in Game of Thrones fans’ hearts, and casting him in another prominent role in the same universe would be a major miss.
