As Marvel looks to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU, we asked AI which actor would be best suited to play Mr. Fantastic in the new Marvel movie.

The Fantastic Four are finally coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Fans of the iconic comic book series are excited to see how Marvel Studios will bring Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm to life in the MCU.

The Fantastic Four have had a tumultuous history on the big screen, with previous adaptations receiving mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. However, with Marvel’s track record for successful superhero films, hopes are high that the Fantastic Four will finally get the big screen treatment they deserve.

Ever since Marvel Studios acquired the rights to the characters, fans have been eager to know who would land the coveted roles in the film and help bring these iconic characters to life on the big screen.

While there is nothing we’d love more than to see John Krasinski reprise the role of Reed Richards in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four film, it’s looking more and more likely Marvel will bring in an entirely new actor to play the role with Adam Driver’s name emerging as the top pick following reports that Driver is in final talks with Marvel about the role.

Although some are eager to see Driver in the role, there are just as many who aren’t exactly excited about the prospect of Driver playing the Fantastic Four’s leader. So with this in mind, we decided to ask AI who it thinks would be the best Mr. Fantastic and its answer definitely surprised us.

Who should play the new Mr. Fantastic (According to AI)

While it’s looking likely that Adam Driver will play Mr. Fantastic in the MCU, not everyone is on board with the idea so we decided to ask AI who should play the role of Mr. Fantastic in Marvel’s upcoming film. In posing the question to ChatGPT, the only restriction we set was that the actor should be someone new to the role since it seems most likely Marvel will be bringing in a brand new actor to play Reed Richards.

With this prompt, AI selected actor Matthew Goode as the most ideal pick for the role of Mr. Fantastic, and here’s why:

"One actor who could potentially excel as Mr. Fantastic in the MCU is Matthew Goode. He has a proven track record of playing intelligent, charming characters in both film and television. Goode is perhaps best known for his roles in Watchmen, The Crown, and Downton Abbey. He has shown that he can effectively portray characters with strong leadership qualities and a sharp intellect, which are key characteristics of Reed RichardsMoreover, Goode has the ability to play characters with a wide range of emotions, from dramatic to comedic, which is necessary for a character like Mr. Fantastic who has a complex personality. He has also displayed a great deal of versatility in his acting, which would be crucial for the MCU’s depiction of Reed Richards, who is not only a brilliant scientist but also a superhero.Overall, Matthew Goode could be an excellent choice to play Mr. Fantastic in the MCU. His acting range, intelligence, and charisma make him a strong candidate for the role."

Not going to lie, Matthew Goode honestly wasn’t someone whose name has been tossed out by many fans when discussing potential actors to play Reed Richards but the more I think about the selection, the more I like it!

As AI points out, Goode has proven himself to be a versatile actor throughout his career which is going to be a key element needed for the role within Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four in capturing the incredibly complicated character that is Reed Richards. He also has a true likeability which would come in handy as the character can have his moments and knows how to command attention, which is important in an ensemble project.

Acting chops aside, there is also no denying that Goode absolutely could pull off the character’s look as he favors the character’s comic book likeness. Marvel has a history of perfectly casting actors who favor their comic counterparts, so Goode in the role of Mr. Fantastic would keep that trend going.

There’s no denying that John Krasinski remains the top pick for the role and it’s looking like it’s now Adam Driver’s to lose, but if Marvel is still vetting actors, Matthew Goode has our vote of support!
