All 5 Despicable Me movies ranked from worst to best

I might be in the minority here, but Despicable Me 2 is the best Despicable Me movie. It’s close. I think Despicable Me and Minions: The Rise of Gru each have a pretty good case for the title of “Best Despicable Me movie,” but I’m going with the second movie of the franchise. I can’t believe it’s been a decade since this movie was released.
Released two years after the first movie, Despicable Me 2 continues Gru’s story after the events of the first film. Gru joins the Anti-Villain League to help stop a supervillain who stole a precious serum. He’s paired with Agent Lucy, and they begin to fall for each other. Gru and Lucy’s investigation leads to a shocking revelation, and they are forced to save the world together.
There’s just something about this movie that’s so good! There are great subplots with the whole will-they/won’t-they with Gru and Lucy, Gru adapting to parenthood, and
So, that’s the ranking of the Despicable Me movies. We’ll be sure to update this ranking again (if I have a change of heart and) when Despicable Me 4 is released in theaters in 2024.
