2. Thor: Ragnarok

Thor: Ragnarok is, personally, my favorite of the Chris Hemsworth Marvel movies. The film premiered in 2017, and it’s the third movie of the four Thor movies. It’s also Taika Waititi’s first Marvel movie, and it’s excellent. Waititi reunited with Hemsworth to direct Thor: Love and Thunder, which premiered in 2022.

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor’s father, Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins, dies, which frees Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. She happens to be Thor’s ultra-powerful older sister, and she is set on ruling Asgard. After losing a fight against Hela and getting smashed all the way to a new planet, Thor and Loki join up with Hulk and Valkyrie to escape their new situation and travel to Asgard to stop Hela once and for all.

Hemsworth is so good in Thor: Ragnarok. The film reveals a new side of the character that we haven’t seen before and gives Thor a little more personality, which we see on display in later MCU movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

It doesn’t get much better than Thor: Ragnarok, but there’s one of Hemsworth’s Marvel movies that stands above the rest.
