Fans of the supernatural horror genre are all familiar with The Conjuring Universe. Created by James Wan with the first movie in the franchise which debuted in 2013, the series primarily follows the story of real-life ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga respectively. The horror movies follow either real-life or fictional stories of people being targeted by malevolent forces and their desperate attempts to stop them.

After the first two Conjuring movies came out, the universe expanded even further, exploring other evil spirits such as the Annabelle doll and Valak, a demon who poses as a nun.

Not every movie in the series is a good one, but overall it’s an entertaining batch of stories that are certainly worth checking out if you’re into ghosts and possessions. Though the real-life Warrens have passed away, Lorraine was involved in the series at the start and seemed to get along with the cast and crew.

The fourth Conjuring movie, titled Last Rites, is in the works, though we don’t have the release date just yet. While we wait for more news about the next installment in the franchise, we’re breaking down all the movies and ranking them from worst to best.
