1. Gustaf Skarsgård
There is no better actor to play an older, cunning version of the iconic villain than Gustaf Skarsgård. With his impressive acting chops and on-screen charisma, Skarsgård would be the perfect fit for a new interpretation of Lex Luthor.
Picture this: a young, idealistic Superman just starting out on his journey as a superhero, and an older, more cynical Lex Luthor who sees the young hero as a threat to humanity. With Skarsgård in the role, the dynamic between the two characters would be electric. His portrayal of Floki on Vikings showed that he has the range to play an eccentric and off-the-wall genius character, while his performance as Karl Strand in Westworld proved he can play a powerful and intimidating villain.
But why an older Lex Luthor, you may ask? Well, an older Lex could bring a unique perspective to the story and offer a new take on the character. He could see Superman as a dangerous idol for humans, and it could make for an interesting dynamic between the two characters. Skarsgård’s physicality and imposing presence would also make for a convincing on-screen portrayal of the character.
So, will we see Skarsgård take on the role of Lex Luthor? Only time will tell, but fans can dream about the exciting possibilities. If DC Studios and Warner Bros. Discovery are looking to shake things up and bring a new take on the character to the big screen, then Skarsgård is undoubtedly a fan favorite for the role.
