"“It is not. I resent that. Slander is spoken. In print, it’s libel.”-J. Jonah Jameson"
J. Jonah Jameson protected Peter Parker from the Green Goblin. He was willing to die to make sure that Peter stayed alive. Nevertheless, we aren’t here to talk about Peter Parker’s villains. This is about Spider-Man and Editor in Chief of the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson is a villain and a menace!
From the minute Spidey became visible, Jonah used his newspaper to make the Wall-Crawler look like a villain. He even went on to say, “He doesn’t want to be famous? Then I’ll make him infamous.” He literally made it a point to write something to make him look bad. Titles like “Masked Menace” were used to promote hatred and most of his readers ate it up.
Let’s move on to No Way Home. Jonah could have withheld the secret that Spider-Man was really Peter Parker. Parker is a kid. If he felt that Peter should have been put on trial for the murder of Mysterio, then give the footage to the police.
Instead, Jonah told the entire world. It didn’t end there. He even followed Peter around to try and get an exclusive on what he was doing. That’s the making of a really evil person. Maybe things would have been different if he personally knew Peter.
